One run can change your day, many runs can change your life.
My Running Journey
It all began back in 1993 when I won my school cross country in Grade 2—it didn’t take long for me to catch the running bug.
As a kid, I’d head along to the Burnie Ten to cheer on my older siblings. I still remember watching some of Australia’s best runners make the trip to Tasmania. It was during those moments on the sidelines that my passion for distance running truly came to life.
Running has given me some of the greatest memories and friendships of my life. It even led me to my fiancée.
Since October 16th, 2019, I’ve been alcohol-free—and running has been a huge part of my recovery journey. It keeps me grounded, focused, and moving forward.
Over the past four years, I’ve launched both a running coaching business and an events company. I now have the incredible privilege of calling this my full-time job.
I’ve recently stepped into the world of ultrarunning, and I’m documenting every part of it—the highs, the lows, and everything in between.
Enjoy the ride with me!
SYDNEY
The Comrades Marathon is an ultramarathon of approximately 88 kilometres (55 mi)[1] which is run annually in the KwaZulu-Natal province of South Africa between the cities of Durban and Pietermaritzburg. It is the world’s largest and oldest ultramarathon race.[2] The direction of the race alternates each year between the “up” run (87.6km) starting from Durban (elevation: 101 metres (331 ft)) and the “down” run (87.7km) starting from Pietermaritzburg (elevation: 921 metres (3,022 ft)).
